The name "Speedster" is first of all for high-profile sports equipment that combine the seemingly impossible: racing feeling and diversity of use, speed, elegance and pleasure all year round. One could therefore declare the Speedster as year-round Road, Gravel bike, Randonneur etc. designate ...

When keyword bike course everyone thinks of one, of whatever kind, 28-inch bicycle. We do not! In recent years we have successfully tough and shaken at various isms and taboos of the cycling world. And for the implementation of these sometimes contradictory objectives it was inevitable that "do-we-have-always-so-paths to leave" and thus we combine diverse bicycle generic elements into a new whole.
During the bike (driver) very strongly that measurable and demonstrable achievement in the foreground (distance, time, altitude ...), the Speedster concept is more for the delightful pleasure and joy of achievement, or as the blogger Andrea Reidl so aptly: "on some wheels go up - and will then always continue."

The idea for a multipurpose racing engine drives Velotraum to long. For always we wanted to offer for ambitious sportsmen a bicycle which can be easily and elegantly integrated in leisure and everyday life - that simply offers more possibilities than the specialist racing. Because, as our creed, who is the fascination and efficiency sporty wheels succumbed even want, yet without this driving experience neither in everyday traveling.

Of course, a list of potential user groups or applications for a bicycle-drawer Sprenger and -Mehrkämper can never be complete. The purpose of the whole, there is much more to give a few suggestions:

Drop Bar Lovers - If everything fits is the Drop Bar the "King" among the Bars and unique in terms of driving dynamics and ergonomics.
Pragmatists - The if necessary the road take the back roads and wet weather (roads) do not want to slow down.
Commuter - Bike to work - efficient, safe and comfortable. The Speedster offers racing-like light running and the option for: wide wheels and tires, disc brakes, lights, fenders and racks.
Cyclist - not only for mountain goats outspoken and Paris-Brest-Paris-slayer (mastered several times with a Speedster) is the Speedster the lighter and stiffer alternative to traditional randonneurs.
Gravelroad- and Cross-driver - Meanwhile the bike world discovered the potential of "Race Bikes with wide Tires" (TOUR 11/2015), but can't achieve the versatility of the Speedster.

Core for the Speedster concept is the frame and the matching fork.

The SP-100 is a weight-optimized frame and therefore suitable primarily for lighter riders and little payload. System weight 120 kilograms.

The top tube length is consistently tailored to the geometrical requirements of the racing handlebar and brake/shift levers and is therefore shorter than in all other Velotraum bicycles.
The steering and frame geometry is nimble and agile, but not as nervous as a racing frame. In conjunction with the 43 and 44 centimeters long rear Triangle, we reach the unison acclaimed and balanced driving characteristics.
Responsible for this is the frame's stiffness (115 or 124 Nm / degree neck stiffness). It guarantees not only the sovereign and precise driving characteristics, it is the basic condition for the targeted, versatile use.
Elemental are inconspicuous eyelets for racks and fenders.
The Speedster aluminum fork has a steerer with 330 millimeters in length and leaves a lot of leeway in adjusting the handlebar position.

Meanwhile, some movement in the traditional embossed racing world. - Disc brakes instead of rim brakes, 28-millimeter tires instead of 19-millimeter dental fillings Jogger and even on the apron option is (again) thought sporadically downstream. We go on the Speedster still a radical step and use only 26-inch (ETRTO 559) or 27.5 inch (ETRTO 584) wheel sizes. The reasons for this are:

Driving - The compact overall design (frame and wheels) gives a particularly defined and precise driving feel, particularly the combination of stability and agility. Driving characteristics that are also retained by the way, when the handlebar is not even ten centimeters under the saddle level.
Weight & Stability - The smaller wheels consist simply of less material, are thus lighter and can accelerate better. The favorable static conditions also make them more resilient.
Comfort - A wider tires can be optimizes comfort ride with reduced air pressure, without the risk of breakdowns. The slight increase in rolling resistance (on smooth substrates) is balanced by that of the cyclists without jolting, performance remains. For this reason, professional race are even now driven on rough roads with less air pressure (6 to 7 bar). The Speedster in possible tire widths (40 to 50 millimeters) allow a comfort air-pressure-use between 2.5 and 3.0 bar. Importantly to know: on bumpy routes, as gravel and dirt roads, reduces an adjusted air pressure rolling resistance (!). With extra wide rims (rim flange distance 28-30 mm) can this comfort aspect and hence the versatility increase again.
Diversity - While found only 25 millimeters wide tires Place at classic race bike, there are for the Speedster a great choice. Guaranteed found so for every application the right tires.
Adaptation and equipment

More specifically, in the sitting position provides an "egg-laying wool milk sow?" Sophisticated and thus more demanding than, say, a road bike. Of course, a versatile usable »Race" requires a careful and individual voting. Finally, the demands on the braking and shifting system, the capacity and the everyday or medical reports will be very different. The emotional capstone of the whole forms the desired color (200 RAL colors in matt or glossy).
