Brompton 16" Front Wheel with SON XS Hub Dynamo 8x74mm 28H - Special Order

This variant of the SON XS hub dynamo is optimized for the narrow forks of Brompton folding bikes. The hub dynamo got side slots instead of the spoke holes. straightpull spokes are mounted in these slots, as they can be found in system wheels. The XS hub dynamo offers semi-radial lacing. This makes the wheel elegant and durable, because the bending moment is omitted in the spokes bow. 

This hub dynamo achieves an efficiency of 60% (0,7 Watts) already at a riding speed of 15 km/h. Its weight of less than 400g ensures that the bike is not heavier than a bike equipped with conventional front hub and friction wheel dynamo. 

Because of the low width of the flange the lateral rigidity of the wheels is smaller than with hubs with conventional geometry.
