The emperor attacks the slope. He is Conti's downhill specialist for hard, sandy soils. But this all-rounder can also be seen on dry and stony slopes. His high level of reliability and versatility has often led his drivers to victory. Black chili gives its highness extremely low rolling resistance and abrasion. The project is designed as a tire for racing and has a lower mileage than the original Kaiser.
handmade in Germany These tires are among the highest quality products from Continental. They are manufactured by hand in the Korbach plant and set special standards in workmanship and quality.
At Conti, BlackChili means above all that grip, rolling resistance and durability are combined at a level at which one can almost believe in magic. Continental simply uses the very latest and best technologies. Polymers, soot particles and fillers optimized down to the nano range guarantee the unique performance of the BlackChili compound. It revolutionized the basic conflict between grip and rolling resistance. Approximately 30% more grip and a 26% improved rolling resistance compared to the silica mixture ensure more performance and safety.
Continental tires are made entirely of this high quality rubber compound. Thus, the tires can be worn down to the carcass without losing the first-class properties of the rubber!
Anyone who has ever driven a tire with black chili doesn't want anything else!
Successfully used in car tires for years, the Apex technology stabilizes the tire in curves. An approach that also makes sense for large-volume bicycle tires. The Apex is a rubber profile that is placed between the carcass plies on the foot of the tire. It stiffens the sidewalls of the tire, thereby minimizing torsion at high transverse loads. In addition, the stiffened sidewalls reduce the risk of puncture damage and prevent the tire from sliding off the rim. These properties predestine the Apex for downhill and freeride tires. The operating pressure can be further reduced in favor of the grip without having to accept a spongy cornering behavior or an increased risk of breakdown.
